Nature Walk

A walk through Breakheart inspired me to write this poem.  As I was walking and reflecting, I observed something. I realized that when we are alone with nature and if we listen hard enough, there are answers to some of life's questions hidden in the sights and sounds around us....

Nature wraps her warm arms around me
leaves blowing lightly over the surface
not fighting with the wind but in harmony
dancing, swirling and floating in the breeze.
The river flows
connected as the water flows freely
singing its watery lullaby
in motion yet remaining the same

The trees speak to me
as their limbs
reach up towards the sky
roots firmly in the ground

They tell me to grow
dare to dream
for your roots remain implanted inside they say
but do not let them keep you down....
